This quick guide is for everyday Mac users who want better privacy without fighting the system all day.
1. Check app permissions
Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security. Review access to Location, Photos, Camera, Microphone, Files, etc. Revoke anything that doesn’t make sense.
2. Limit location usage
Only allow location for apps that truly need it (maps, delivery, etc.). Turn off “significant locations” if you don’t want a location history.
3. Browser tracking protection
Use Safari’s “Prevent cross-site tracking” or a privacy-respecting browser with built-in protection.
4. iCloud and data sync
Review what’s synced to iCloud. Turn off what you don’t use. Enable 2FA for your Apple ID.
5. Full disk access
Only security / backup tools should have Full Disk Access. Remove anything suspicious.
6. Lock your screen
Require password after sleep or screen saver. Add a short timeout.
Later: you can expand this into a CIS-style checklist or link to your tools.
